For attorneys and partners

Audmit is built around a simple idea: compliance work moves faster when evidence is organized before it reaches a lawyer's desk. Whether you're in-house counsel overseeing a client's AI obligations, joining our of-counsel network, or referring clients as a partner — here's how we work together.

Scope of services: Audmit provides technology and compliance-consulting services. Legal services, where engaged, are provided by the affiliated law practice under a separate engagement letter between the practice and the client. Audmit is not a law firm. Full disclosure →

Your counsel, or ours.

Every Audmit engagement includes attorney review of compliance closures. Companies choose who provides that review.

1

Audmit-provided counsel

The affiliated law practice reviews and approves compliance closures under its own engagement letter with your client, with a committed turnaround stated in the engagement.

  • ✓ Dedicated reviewer assigned to the engagement
  • ✓ Turnaround commitments in the engagement letter
  • ✓ Ideal when a company lacks in-house AI compliance counsel
2

Your own counsel

In-house or your outside firm gets a reviewer seat in the Audmit platform. Audmit assembles the compliance evidence, tracks the review queue, and routes items for approval. Your attorney exercises the judgment and retains the relationship with the business.

  • ✓ Respects counsel's existing role and relationship
  • ✓ Evidence assembled and queued before it reaches counsel
  • ✓ Ideal when the company's legal team wants direct oversight

Under Path 2, turnaround depends on the client legal team's own capacity. In-house review queues are frequently slower than an outside reviewer's dedicated capacity — this is normal, and setting that expectation upfront helps everyone plan realistically.

The choice between paths is made per engagement and can change later. Some companies start with Audmit-provided counsel and transition to their own team once they hire an in-house compliance lead; others do the reverse as their portfolio grows.

For in-house and fractional counsel

When your client or employer chooses Path 2, Audmit organizes their compliance evidence so it arrives at your desk ready for review — not as a loose collection of spreadsheets and Slack threads. You retain full judgment over what constitutes closure; we handle the structure, tracking, and follow-up.

This is explicitly designed to support your oversight, never to replace it. Every closure requires your sign-off. The platform shows you what's pending, what evidence supports each item, and what the compliance team has documented — then waits for your decision.

What the review console gives you:

  • • Filtered queue by domain, status, and owner — see only what needs your attention
  • • Evidence package attached to each obligation (notices drafted, impact assessments completed, vendor responses collected)
  • • Approve, return for revision, or add notes — every action is timestamped and auditable
  • • Quarterly compliance report auto-generated from your approvals — ready for board or insurer distribution

The review queue

Filter by domain, status, or owner. Each obligation shows its statute reference, assigned owner, deadline, and current state. Approve items individually or return them with notes.

Of-counsel network

Live

The Audmit of-counsel network is open to California-licensed attorneys with experience in privacy, technology, employment, or regulatory compliance. Additional state modules will open as California's framework is replicated for other jurisdictions.

Network attorneys serve as the reviewing counsel under Path 1 engagements, providing attorney review and approval of compliance closures for Audmit clients under their own engagement letters.

What the review console does:

  • • Presents compliance evidence organized by obligation family, with statute references and supporting documentation
  • • Tracks your review history and approval timestamps for each engagement
  • • Generates quarterly reports reflecting your review and sign-off activity
  • • Manages engagement-level access — you see only your assigned clients

How engagements are structured:

  • • Each engagement has a separate engagement letter between the attorney's practice and the client
  • • Audmit assembles evidence, manages the platform, and tracks deadlines; the attorney exercises independent legal judgment
  • • Engagements are scoped by the number of AI systems and obligation families in play
  • • Review cadence is agreed in the engagement letter — typically monthly or quarterly

Referral partners

Live

If you're a broker, MSP, fractional CISO, or technology advisor whose clients use AI in California, you're already fielding compliance questions. Audmit's referral program lets you connect your clients to a structured compliance service instead of pointing them at a 200-page statute.

When you refer a company, we handle the assessment, obligation mapping, and ongoing management. Your client gets a compliance service; you stay involved as much or as little as the relationship calls for.

How referrals work:

  • • Introduce your client or submit their details through the partner form below
  • • We contact the client, run the free self-assessment, and scope an engagement if applicable
  • • You're kept informed of engagement status at whatever level of detail you prefer
  • • The client's compliance posture improves; your advisory relationship deepens

What you can offer your clients:

  • • A concrete answer to "what California AI laws apply to us?" — backed by the free self-assessment
  • • A structured path from assessment to compliance closure, not a one-time audit
  • • Attorney-reviewed compliance closures — either through their own counsel or Audmit-provided counsel
  • • Ongoing posture management that keeps pace with new statutes and deadlines
